Woden Outstanding, March 2015
In March 2015, Ofsted judged Woden to be ‘Outstanding’ in all categories, including Quality of Teaching; Achievement; Leadership & Management and Behaviour. Our Early Years Provision was also judged in the outstanding category. The report states, “All leaders, governors and trustees have high expectations for the quality of teaching and for pupils’ achievement.”
Woden’s motto ‘Learning to make a difference’ is evident in all we do. We pride ourselves on providing a rich and varied learning environment that encourages pupils to flourish and achieve their best.
In July 2014, at the end of KS2, 88% of pupils achieved a level 4+ in reading, 79% in writing, 74% in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and 79% in Maths (10% achieving a level 6). All broadly in line with National Averages. 100% of our children made at least 2 levels progress, from the end of KS1 to the end of KS2 in reading and maths, and 96% in writing. An average of 50% of pupils made 3+ levels progress. “Pupils across the school are making outstanding progress in reading, writing and maths.” Ofsted 2015.
Recently, Woden achieved the Gold standard Arts Mark for its work with art, music, dance and other creative activities.
At Woden Primary we aim to provide our pupils with the best possible start in their life. “Pupil’s outstanding attitudes in lessons support their learning exceptionally well. Pupils across the school have a thirst for learning in whatever subject is being taught.” Ofsted 2015.
